The BJP-led Chhattisgarh government has launched a new scheme allowing women beneficiaries of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana to get a loan of up to Rs 25,000.
Named as Mahatari Shakti Loan Yojana, the scheme targets women beneficiaries who have bank accounts with State Rural Bank, aiming to enable them to open and operate self-employment ventures.
While launching the scheme, Chhattisgarh's Finance Minister OP Chaudhary said that the scheme will economically women in the state
ALL ABOUT THE SCHEME
According to the official notification of the Chhattisgarh government, any woman who is a beneficiary of the Mahatari Vandan scheme and has been getting Rs1,000 financial assistance under the scheme every month will be able to avail the loan if she is an account holder in the State Rural Bank.
Out of the 70 lakh beneficiaries of the Mahatari Vandan scheme, 17.5 lakh women have their accounts in the rural bank and are eligible to get a Rs 25,000 loan under the Mahatari Shakti Loan scheme.
There’s a ceiling on the loan amount, Rs 10,000 being the minimum sum and Rs 25,000 being the top amount.
